I haven't written anything in so long, I'm just so tired lately. Went to the doctor today, after... um... about 6 months of chronic stomach ache, and looks like I'll need my gall bladder out (unless I can avoid it thru good nutrition!). I'm looking foward to it, even though it'll be about a month away. I don't know why it's going to take so long for tests, etc, but I'm excited at the prospect of feeling GOOD again.
The kids have remained busy, which makes it hard when you don't feel well. I'm doing the best I can to keep up with dance lessons on Monday nights, geography co-op on Monday afternoons, Civil Air Patrol on Wednesdays, bowling league on Saturdays, and the occasional fiddle workshop on Tuesdays for Kori (I wish we could make that more often, it is an excellent and FREE workshop, but it's also 40 min each way). Plus Nick is starting some classes on Thursdays. I'm also looking forward to things slowing down with late spring/ summer.
We are not getting to adopt the beautiful 10yo girl we were hoping to add to our family. It's been heartbreaking, for me especially. I love this child. The city we live in will not back our decision, and because of her traumatic past we decided not to risk going for a private adoption and having something occur in our home (whether by false accusation or her perpetrating another family member). Because our city was so adamant, we didn't feel it would be wise to put our other children out there. Oh, but the emotions. I've had some pretty intense moments in my life, like everyone, but this was the most intense. I still miss her.
On a positive note the weather is gorgeous, no more fog... YAY! We've been spending more time outside, and went on a frog hunt this evening. We didn't find any, but we heard hundreds. Tomorrow we will hunt again!
