Downloading lots of pictures before time gets any further away from me. We've had some pretty significant changes in our home since the last time I wrote. Nick has been working very long hours, and we miss him. He has his first weekend off this weekend, and we hope to spend it at the lake.-
The girls had dance competition last weekend, and did very well!!! Kori placed 3rd, 3rd and 4th and Kristianna placed 1st, 1st and 3rd- taking the aggregate trophy- yay!!! I was so proud of them all! My girls are so lovely, so fresh and sweet. Kristianna and Sara are the middle girls.

Hayden has been super involved in Civil Air Patrol, but has been disappointed lately with some cancellations. He was hoping to fly again last weekend, but since he has flown already this summer, and they had to pare the list down, he was not able to. They are going to try and get him another flight this fall. He was also supposed to work traffic at the local rodeo, but it's looking like that will be cancelled as well (the volunteering, not the rodeo). I'm selfishly glad, since we want him home with us this weekend while Dad is off work! Hayden surprised me this morning with some cartoons he had taped inside the van. One was of a baby carriage, the other of me. Both said "Hubba Hubba" on them! ~laugh~

Let me explain... we are the proud parents of a 10 week old infant baby boy. He is beautiful. He is also "foster", although with his families history we are VERY selfishly praying the Lord will allow us to adopt him eventually. He has lived with us for almost 4 weeks now... sleepless weeks... he is VERY fussy, colicky and knows exactly how he likes things. but I think he's worth it. What a beautiful gift from God, if only for a time.

As the summer begins to cool down, and the sun is setter earlier in the evening... we are preparing for homeschooling again. Each child is so different, so specific about what they would like to do. I am very excited about using Five in a Row again with the little ones and Linnea. Sara is learning to read, but is eager to move further along. Exciting stuff.

We are all preparing for our first family birthday party- aptly called a "birthday bash" by the Jeub family. www.jeubfamily.com We are holding it at our friend's home, who has 50 acres, and a ginormous house. She is preparing to have all our friends, family, and their children over for BBQing, pony cart riding, marshmallow roasting, pinata breaking and just all out fun. I am looking forward to it!!! Each one of our children will be given one big birthday gift- that is what they decided. I'm so thrilled that we will spend this entire day with family and friends celebrating the birth of each one of our children- we are so blessed.

We are also excited about the library's 'sumer reading' program. Each child reads (or is read) 15 books, then turns in their list for a prize- usually a book... but this year a free entry to the dinosaur exhibit at the museum!! So that ought to be interesting, plus we also look forward to apple picking season next month and lots of fresh apple butter, applesauce and apple pie... YUM! Hopefully my Mom and her husband Tom will be here for both.

Well, I think that's it. Apart from the sleepless nights, Nick working overtime, Mom visiting, Dad coming soon, and preparing for fall fun- things are pretty boring around here. ;o) The kids are all healthy- and I am thanking SuperKids vitamins for that! www.beeyoutiful.com Both Trey and Kyla woke with the croup last weekend, and within 3 doses of SuperKids and some garlic they were well again!!
