We decided this year to have a "birthday bash" in the tradition of the Jeub family: http://www.jeubfamily.com/ -
So we planned for about 2 months to have this huge combined birthday party for all of our children. On their actual birthdays we make them a special meal, a favorite dessert and generally make them feel special all day. but the party enabled us to do more for all of them than we could have individually. My mom happened to be here visiting this year, and blessed our children with things we could have never afforded. Everyone we invited came- with the exception of 2 families- so we had about 50+ people. It was exciting for me to have all my friends and family in one place!

We held our birthday bash at my friend Terry's house, her home is just gorgeous and BIG enough for us to have everyone with room to spread out. Her backyard has a beautiful view, and Terry had gone over the top setting up tables, drinks in a trough, making an extra cake (which we ended up needing!), buying a lot of the supplies for me... and just making it so special for all of us. She really went above and beyond.

The children ran around with their friends, looking at the different animals and Terry's daughter gave pony cart rides and allowed the little children to ride the ponies. We had a pinata- which tiny Sara broke (!!) not giving any of the older children a chance but they all sure ran for the goodies! The kids all had an egg toss after it began to get dark, which turned into an "egg massacre". The girls chasing the boys around the farm with their eggs. Terry's husband did all the grilling on their big pig BBQ, and he also lit a bonfire for us after dark!

The kids were so pleased with their gifts- Hayden was given a cell phone with VCast (IPod like) capabilities. He is on his Nana's plan (10$ per month!) and can call his best buddy free. He was VERY happy about that! Plus with him starting drivers ed this week, it'll be nice for him to be able to contact me if he needs to. Kori got a new stereo with 5 CD changer and cassette player for her fiddle tapes (her teacher makes for her). Kristianna got a small laptop computer for all her writing and a couple of educational CDs. Sara and Linnea are sharing a karoake machine and a Christian CD. Trey recieved all the Legos he has been asking for for the past 6 months! and Kyla was given a candy machine that I found on Ebay in June. She was thrilled.

My mom and sister blessed our kids with a Wii game system!!! Yay! Mom also bought me a pair of pearl earrings... my first pair of nice earring. Beautiful.
