"The Story About Ping"

We took a little longer with our Five in a Row unit study on The Story About Ping (China). We learned a lot together about China, Chinese cultures, the Yangtze river (and it's population!), discernment, classic stories, and buoyancy. We made ginger-honey chicken together (and ate it with chopsticks on my birthday :o). We finished up by coloring some Peking ducks, making a flag of China, drawing the Yangtze on a China map, making a few purchases (pears and candy!) at the local oriental mart, and visiting the ducks at the lake nearby. Only one duck would eat the rice cakes we brought, the others must have smelled them right off- they wouldn't come near us! ~grin~

We had our first attempt at scrapbooking what we learned. Hmm. I guess that comes with practice?
