A Bit of Rambling

So much has been going on in our home, yet nothing exciting or new. I think. Our foster baby has now been with us for 3 months, and he is such a delight! He is all boy, and makes sure that we are well aware of that. We are still hoping to adopt again, foster baby should be going home to his mom and dad some day next month. Hopefully before Christmas. We did respite care for foster baby's sister this past weekend, Kristianna and Kori were hopelessly in love and wouldn't let me hardly near the baby! She's a living doll, we really enjoyed having her. Although I keep reminding the girls that I don't do late night feedings, so we will be adopting a child older than 12 months. Maybe I'll get them each a Baby Alive doll for Christmas? *snort*

We've been going 'around the world' using Five in a Row and are really enjoying that, it's the best homeschool help out there, in my opinion. ;o) The children are all healthy, looking forward to the first big snowfall, snowball fights, forts and sledding. Trey and the girls are all still Highland dancing. Trey is doing very, very well. He's not happy that he must wear a tam (Scottish beret) with a fluffy, red ball on the top when he competes. :o) Hayden is still doing well in Civil Air Patrol, and scored 100% on his last advancement test!! He is almost finished with driver's education, I'm so thankful we have another 7 months before he can actually drive.

13 months until Nick can officially retire from the Air Force, although we are still not sure which direction we are headed. Whether he will actually retire, or extend his service. I really, really do not want him to deploy again. Although he looks incredibly hunky in the new uniforms they are issued. :o)

Sara is still scoffing at all my meals, she's so tiny and so picky. She still misses her bio-family so much, she is having the hardest time of all our children. I am taking a Fetal Alcohol seminar next week and really looking forward to that. Anything I can do to increase my knowledge of my children is a help! It's getting harder to understand Linnea's needs as she gets older, and seemingly has a worse memory than before. We are keeping up with her supplements and that seems to make a huge difference. It also helps with Trey and Sara's ADHD.

Tonight the kids played the Wii system for quite awhile, they love this thing and it's been hard for me to keep it's usage down to a reasonable level. Kyla helped me make fudge, next time I think we will stick to my mom's recipe, it wasn't as good as hers. :o) We started a new tradition this Thanksgiving of writing what we are thankful for on a pretty tablecloth, year after year we will add to it. A great idea my mom passed along to me. I love easy traditions. :o) Trey and Sara made Sioux Indian Pudding to serve with vanilla ice cream, and Kyla looked so cute sitting on the edge of the couch watching the Nest version of the First Thanksgiving.

I'm sure there is tons more, but I'm lacking in words this evening. :o) For family members who read these updates, if you click on any picture it will enlarge. Also, down at the bottom of each page is an "older post" button. We love and miss you all so much.
