We just finished a unit on Australia, based off of the lessons from Five In A Row's "Pumpkin Runner". The children loved studying about this amazing country, we could've spent more time there. Oh, that we had the money to visit! We read about Cane Toads, different foods (we are going to try Vegemite... mmm... and made damper- an Aussie bread), the Great Barrier Reef and the awesome Lady Elliot Island. The animals in Australia are so varied and interesting!! Of course, we had to wrap things up with pumpkin carving. They were so cute lit up!
