We didn't go anywhere today. No BBQ, or lake stops. Instead we stayed at home- read 4th of July books, watched a Snoopy cartoon on the Constitution, ate steak fingers w/ mashed potatoes and gravy, cake and soda (a treat in this house!), had a big family water fight- and then watched our neighbors go absolutely fireworks crazy. I spent some time in reflection... how the loud noises we were hearing were purely joyful. Those same sounds in another country mean bondage, fear, horror and death.
